We welcome Dr. Jasmine Thornton who has joined the team as Deputy Executive Director.
Dr. Thornton brings more than a decade of experience in education reform and school choice, grounded in a deep belief that all scholars—regardless of zip code or circumstance—deserve access to an excellent education. She previously served on the founding team of Mississippi’s first charter school, where she helped translate bold vision into strong execution, shaping opportunities for scholars and families across the Jackson Metro.
This role marks a meaningful homecoming. A native of Greenville, Mississippi, Dr. Thornton returns to the Delta with both professional expertise and personal commitment. Her work has always been driven by a clear purpose: to expand access, raise expectations, and ensure that scholars are not only supported, but fully prepared to thrive.
At Archway, she will play a critical role in building the systems, talent, and strategy necessary to launch and sustain an innovative school model designed to meet the needs of Delta scholars and families.
Dr. Thornton’s leadership reflects both urgency and intentionality. She is known for her belief that excellence is designed, not accidental—and that strong outcomes are the result of clear vision, disciplined execution, and an unwavering commitment to scholars and families.
